Komatsu PC138US engine noise !

I have just taken delivery of a new Komatsu PC138US which I am sad to report seems very noisy when I operate it with the door open, has anybody else experienced a lot of noise when the sliding door is open on these zero tailswing machines?
Apart from this problem it is a very nice machine and I am very pleased with all other aspects.

I have tried the 138 US only for some hours and it does not seem much noisy one, indeed it appears much silent one also with the open door ...... if compared with other excavators.
I think the 138 and Komatsu product are very silent machines (see dash 8 esxcavators) .... if u are speaking about engine. Some rumors by mecanic parts (rotation and stick) are more evindence

Please do not get me wrong I to am very happy with the Komatsu product, I have operated many different models over the years and have always been a big Komatsu fan.
I guess it is because I have just come off a Volvo EC210 and I have only had a few days on the new 138US, I expect I will get used to it as time goes by.
I very much like the super smooth hydraulic system and also the machine will be very good in tight working conditions.

Thanks a lot Nick .... i think ethat's your machines is very noisy (or the engine) is possible some problems at the motor ... call the customer unit of Kom or try to ask at some operator (wich use the same machine).


Per Luca Bergamo: per caso hai un PC 128/138 US in flotta? Se sì potresti postare qualcosa in merito alla rumorosità della macchina??!! ....... Grazie in anticipo.

Hi Pablo,

Many thanks for your comments and I am so sorry I cannot speak Italian!!! It is very frustrating for me also, I think the site is fantastic and I would love to have more input but it is difficult.
We have nothing like this site in England ..Keep up the good work!
